Elizabeth’s Business Story

First things first; in one sentence can you describe what your business does?

Helps others navigate perimenopause.

What do you tell people inspired you to start your business?

Rage.

What REALLY inspired you to start your business?

Rage.

What narratives or stories did you used to tell yourself and why?

Who am I to think I have something to say? In the end I couldn’t stay silent.

What was your business rock bottom and why?

Getting very close to getting a publisher for my book and then being turned down.

What do you find hardest about running your own business day to day?

Believing in myself enough to have the tenacity to keep going.

How do you mitigate this?

Support from my husband- “You haven’t failed until you give up”. Reading the feedback I got from the publisher- “You’re a writer. I know you’ll get there”.

What has been the biggest challenge that you have faced in your business and how have you overcome this?

I’m not a joiner. I’m not good at promoting myself and getting out there. I’ve stopped trying to be someone I’m not. I’ve stopped trying to make myself a joiner. If something isn’t for me I accept that.

What has owning your own business taught you about yourself?

I’m a late bloomer!

What do you still struggle with in relation to your business?

Self promotion.

What's the best thing about owning your own business?

Making real connections with genuine people.

What's the biggest lesson you've learned from owning your own business?

I love working for myself.

If you have one piece of advice for other business owners what would it be?

Like yourself and what you do.

If you could do anything else career wise what would it be?

A lottery winner.
